Joint Parliament session adjourned after ruckus of opposition

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A joint session of Parliament is under way at Parliament House under the chair of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to discuss the deteriorating situation in Indian-held Jammu Kashmir (IHK). The session was started with versus of Holy Quran and national anthem. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati tabled the resolution related to current situation of IHK. Opposition Leader Shhebaz Sharif highlighted the absence of article 370 in the resolution and the ruckus began over this point in National Assembly. Meanwhile Azam Swati again presented the resolution with mentioning articles 370 and 35A. The joint parliamentary session, summoned by President Dr Arif Alvi, is reviewing the tense situation in occupied Kashmir and along the Line of Control after the Modi government rushed through a presidential decree on Monday to abolish Article 370, which revoked the special status granted to occupied Kashmir and made the state a Union Territory with the legislature. Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider is among the leaders present in today's session, which is being chaired by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser. The opposition made noise and raised slogans as “Prime Minister Should Present” (Wazeere Azam Hazir Hun). However, the National Assembly turned into fish market due to the noise of opposition, on this, Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mizari said that it seems to be the opposition did not want to debate on Kashmir issue. All political parties will deliberate on the Kashmir issue and mull over a unanimous national stance over the India-occupied Kashmir (IoK) issue. A joint strategy for tackling Indian terrorism will be overviewed during the joint session of the parliament. The matters regarding Indian attacks of cluster bombs targeting civilian population along Line of Control (LoC) would also be discussed during the meeting. The session will analyze the situation following Indian government’s decision to end occupied Kashmir’s special status by abrogating Article 35A and Article 370, and Indian atrocities in the occupied valley. A day earlier, the Indian government rushed through a presidential decree to scrap a special status for Indian-held Jammu Kashmir, hours after imposing a major security clampdown in the region. Amit Shah has announced to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A from its constitution, which gives special status and rights to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The announcement was made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing in Rajya Sabha, upper house of Indian parliament. Amit Shah also announced that Jammu and Kashmir would be re-organized geographically. Amit Shah also announced that Jammu and Kashmir now a union territory with legislature,and it is no more a State. He also announced that Ladakh will also be union territory without legislature. He said that President of India had issued a notification in this regard. After Amit Shah proposed that the regulation under Article 370 will not be applicable after Presidential nod, the Rajya Sabha witnessed massive uproar with the opposition slamming the Centre over the move. The opposition denied to accept the decision of government and harshly reacted on the bill. Before the introduction of the bill, the Kashmir issue rocked the Rajya Sabha as Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad raised the current situation in Kashmir. “Entire Kashmir is under curfew. It’s a war-like situation. Three chief ministers are under house arrest. That should be discussed first,” Ghulam Nabi Azad said in the Rajya Sabha.
