Joint session of parliament to be held today amid PTI boycott

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A joint session of the Parliament is being held in Islamabad at 4:30pm today (Wednesday) evening. The session will discuss the tense situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and Indian brutalities and deteriorating situation in Occupied Kashmir. On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced to boycott the joint session of Parliament called by the prime minister today. PTI chief Imran Khan said that it had been six months but the prime minister had not responded to the allegations made in the Panama Leaks. The entire nation has been held hostage by one Panama issue, he said. Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) declared Nawaz Sharif country’s legal Prime Minister. Talking to media, Qamar Zaman Kaira while expressing shock over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision not to attend the joint session of parliament said that they were unable to understand why PTI decided to sit this meeting out. He said that the PTI participated in the All Parties Conference (APC) and National Security Committee (NSC) meeting summoned by the prime minister but they were unable to understand why PTI decided not to attend the joint session of parliament. He said there is need to create national harmony and internal unity on the Kashmir issue in order to send a “clear message” to the world.
