NAUSHERO FEROZ (92 News) – Journalist Aziz Memon’s body exhumed in the presence of sessions court judge presiding over the case and samples have been taken for second autopsy on Sunday. According to the derails garnered, the body of journalist was taken to the coroner’s office for an autopsy. DNA samples and specimens have been taken from the body to determine whether the journalist actually murdered or suffered a natural death as security officials tasked with investigations claimed. A three-member medical panel led by the medical superintendent of the PMC Hospital Nawabshah conducted the tests. The provincial health secretary, Kandiaro judicial magistrate, members of the joint investigation team (JIT) probing the alleged murder were also present during the exhumation of the body. The exhumation attended by the Sindh health secretary, high court registrar, district and sessions judge, judicial magistrate and members of the JIT formed to investigate the case. It is pertinent to mention here that the first post-mortem report claimed that Memon died due to asphyxiation. The decision to conduct a second post-mortem was made after protests by journalists. Aziz Memon was murdered in Naushero Feroz’s Mehrabpur last month. The body of journalist was found in a canal on February 16. The official said that there was a wire wrapped around his neck.
