Journalists continue protest against manhandling of 92 News senior reporter Chand Nawab

LAHORE (92 News) – Journalists continued their protest for the second day against the manhandling of 92 News senior reporter Chand Nawab across the country on Wednesday. Demonstrations were staged against the incident in different cities, including Lahore and Karachi. In Lahore, journalists led by Lahore Press Club president Arshad Ansari staged a demonstration outside the Punjab Assembly. A large number of people from different walks of life participated in the protest. The protesters also chanted slogans against the government and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Journalists leader Afzal Butt said that they would extend their protest if action was not taken against the people responsible for the attack on senior reporter Chand Nawab. Rana Azeem announced that they would stage demonstrations outside the office of Minister for Railways Saad Rafique. LPC president Arshad Ansari said that it become a routine matter to attack journalists. Ameen Yousaf said that they would besiege the Lahore Railway Station tomorrow if action was not taken against culprits. Meanwhile, the Sukkur Union of Journalists demanded that strict action should be taken against Railway police and other employees. The Railway employees manhandled senior reporter Chand Nawab when he exposed sale of tickets on the black.
