Judicial Commission be constituted to probe video footage allegedly involving AC judge: Shahzad Akbar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said on Monday a judicial commission should be formed to investigate the video footage allegedly involving the accountability judge. Akbar who was flanked by Minister of Sate for Communication Murad Saeed, told a press conference that the government had left the matter to the judiciary He said the opposition would object if the government initiates a probe over the controversial video, therefore the judiciary should carry out an investigation itself. Akbar further said a forensic audit should be carried out of the alleged video clip. He reiterated that the other man in the video, who PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz described as PML-N worker Nasir Butt, was a convicted criminal who has previously served a prison sentence in Pakistan. He said the politics of Changa Manga had destroyed the political institution, adding both PML-N and PPP had given free hand to each other for doing corruption. Akbar made it clear that the government would nor spare those involved in money-laundering and corruption. He said those who had plundered Rs24,000 billion of national kitty would have to be accountable for each penny. Murad Saeed said Nawaz Sharif received money from national exchequer for his treatment while Shehbaz Sharif got five houses as Chief Minister’s House. He said Maryam Nawaz and her caravan comprising 80 vehicles destined to Mandi Bahauddin refused to  pay toll tax as her family had developed habit of not paying from their pockets.
