Judicial Commission hands over 300-page final report to Law Ministry; rejects PTI’s all allegations

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Judicial Commission established to probe alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections has handed over a 300-page final report to a representatives of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights. Meanwhile, the Law Ministry has sent the sealed report to Prime Minister House. The report was presented to the representative during a meeting of the judicial commission presided over by Chief Justice Nasarul Mulk and attended by Justice Ijaz Afzal and Justice Ameer Hani. The PTI had accused the PML-N of organized rigging, unfair elections and theft of public mandate. Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal, in a tweet, said: “Alhamdulillah! Reportedly, the Judicial Commission has cleared the 2013 elections and rejected PTI allegations on all three charges. Finally, truth prevails. In name of rigging drama ‘dharna’ havoc was played with the economy. In true democratic spirit, Imran Khan should accept responsibility for misleading the nation and youth. That is his personal choice. We need to, however, now move forward with greater determination to build economy for making up for the ‘dharna’ year.” Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to summon a high-level meeting over the Judicial Commission report in a couple of days. The Cabinet, PML-N office-bearers and legal advisers will attend the meeting. Sources revealed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had met legal experts Shahid Hamid, Barrister Zafarullah, Attorney General, Secretary Law and Khawaja Zaheer with regard to the report. The meeting will review the report and make the future strategy. However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesman said that they have not yet received the report at the official level.
