LAHORE (92 News) - Enraged party member Advocate Najeem Khan claimed that the JUI-F continued to receive funds from Libya during the tenure of former president Ziaul Haq.

In an interview with " The Last Hour" program of 92 News, the angry JUI-F leader mentioned that he was close to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and also held important positions within party.

"In era of Ziaul Haq, Maulana told me that we had an offer of money from the Libyan government against this government. I supported working for the party without money. Maulana offered me money several times which I refused," Najeem Khan claimed.

He further narrated that when the incident of Zia's plane happened, the central party formed a three-member committee, which was tasked to conduct audit of Libya funds. "It demanded to give account for the money received from Libya," he added.

Najeem Khan alleged that Fazlur Rehman had told him that people should support them against Zia government through Afghanistan. "They wanted to do something wrong via Russia. They also wanted to fail the government by launching a movement against it. I was the central general secretary of the party at that time."

He further claimed, "Ameer Nawab advocate told me that during Zardari's tenure, Maulana asked for 10,000 Hajj visas, but when he did not get them, Maulana became angry. Maulana was persuaded by giving a quota of seven and a half thousand Hajj visas. Maulana continued to earn up to Rs24,000 on a single visa through an agent. Money was also offered to support Asif Ali Zardari."
