CHAMAN (92 News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Hanif, who was killed in a bomb blast that targeted his convoy at Taj Road, was laid to rest in Chaman on Sunday. According to the reports, the funeral prayers of Maulana Muhammad Hanif were offered in Chaman. The prayers were attended by JUI-F central leaders including Maulana Muhammad Wasif, Usman Kakar and others, whereas, a large number of citizens were also present. Shutter down protests were held in Quetta, Chaman, Noshki, Dalbadin and Harnai against the blast that claimed three lives and injured 11. The call for the protests was given by the JUI-F. Shutter down strike is being observed across Balochistan over Chaman blast on Sunday. On the call of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman, the people in Balochistan are observing shutter down strike against the death of Maulana Muhammad Hanif in Chaman blast. All the business sectors and public transport in the province have been closed.

Earlier on Sunday, three people, including JUI-F leader Maulana Hanif, were martyred while 10 others injured in a blast on Taj Road. The blast occurred when Maulana Hanif was coming out of his office. Glasses of nearby buildings broke due to the blast. A heavy contingent of police and FC reached the site and cordoned off the area. Emergency has been declared in District Hospital. After the blast, fire broke out in a vehicle and a bike. According to security officers, the explosive material was fitted in a motorcycle. Reacting to the incident, JUI-F chief Mualana Fazlur Rahman condemned the blast, saying it was a well-planned conspiracy to target the JUI leadership. “It is responsibility of state to provide protection to its citizens.” He asked the law enforcement agencies to expose such elements.
