JUI, Raza Rabbani oppose Senate election through open ballot

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and PPP Senator Raza Rabbani have opposed the conduct of the Senate election through the open ballot.

Hearing the presidential reference to conduct the Senate election through the open ballot on Monday, a five-member bench of the Supreme Court also accepted Raza Rabbani's plea to submit the reply in personal capacity.

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked that the court would only review the written replies and would not hear the verbal arguments.

The Attorney General told court that Senate election was held through open ballot in India.
