ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Renowned singer turned Naat Khawan and religious preacher Junaid Jamshed is being remembered on his 57th birth anniversary on Friday.

 Junaid Jamshed was born in Karachi on September 03, 1964. He received education in engineering and joined the band ‘Vital Signs’ as a leading singer. ‘Vital Signs’ released a national song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ on TV in 1987, in which they used western musical instruments.

Some of his albums that released during time of ‘Pop Music’, includes ‘Vital Signs 1’, ‘Vital Signs 2’, ‘Aitebaar’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Tumhara Aur Mera Naam’, ‘Us Raah Per’, ‘The Best of Junaid Jamshed’ and ‘Dil Ki Baat’.

As early as 1999, Media had been speculating about Junaid Jamshed 's drift from music soon after the Vital Signs faded away. The speculations soon died after Junaid Jamshed released his single albums in mere two years and continued world tours.

After 2001, he disappeared from the public eye, and avoided the media attention. Over the years, he stayed distant from Hyatt who continued to work on producing music.

Finally, Junaid Jamshed, who had been out of practice from his engineering career 20 years ago, announced to step into fashion-designing industry with his close friend. In 2004, he officially renounced music and engineering after announcing to devote his life to Islam.

 

Singer turned Naat Khawan

After the successful 15 years in Pop music and performing Worldwide, Junaid Jamshed bid farewell to the music industry and diverted his attention towards religion and served rest of his life in promoting Islam. He also hosted Ramazan transmissions on TV channel. Islamic scholar, Junaid Jamshed used to participate actively in social work. He was also awarded ‘Tamgha-e-Imtiaz’ by the government of Pakistan in 2007. In a tragic incident, he lost his life when the plane, he was travelling on to Islamabad from Chitral crashed in Havelian.
