Junaid Khan records strange protest for his exclusion from WC squad
KARACHI (92 News) – Fast bowler Junaid Khan on Monday recorded strange protest for his exclusion from the World Cup squad.
The fast bowler protested over his non-inclusion in the World Cup squad with a picture showing his mouth covered with black tape. He captioned the picture with: “I don't want to say anything. Truth is bitter.”
Junaid Khan shared this picture on his twitter account hours after Chief Selector Inzimamul Haq announced to replace him with Mohammad Amir in light of his below par performance against England.
Faheem Ashraf and Abid Ali are also among the players recalled from the squad announced a month ago.
“Junaid and Faheem are dropped but that doesn't mean they are not good. But we think players like Amir and Wahab are more suitable for these conditions, which is why we have preferred them,” said Inzimam.
Junaid picked only two wickets in the recently concluded series against England which Pakistan lost by 4-0.
From the 15-player provisional squad, which was announced on April 18, the selectors have replaced Abid Ali and Junaid Khan with Asif Ali and Mohammad Amir, respectively (both were named as additional players), while Wahab Riaz has been recalled to replace Faheem Ashraf.
Yasir Shah is the fourth player to be released from the side after he was named as Shadab Khan’s replacement for the series against England.
Amir, who is presently in London and has fully recovered from chicken pox, and Wahab is expected to join the squad in Bristol on May 22. Both the players will be available for selection for the May 24 and 26 warm-up matches before Pakistan launches their World Cup campaign against the Windies on May 31 at Trent Bridge.

Pakistan announces 15-member squad for Cricket World Cup 2019
Pakistan cricket selectors, in consultation with the captain and coach, on Monday confirmed their 15-player composition for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, which will be played in England and Wales from May today to July 14.
Pakistan had the flexibility to finalise their line-up until May 22, but decided to lock their make-up on Monday following the conclusion of the One-Day International series against England in Leeds.
