Justice (r) Javed Iqbal assumes charge as NAB chairman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has today (Wednesday) assumed charge as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman. He will be briefed about important affairs of National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The newly appointed NAB chairman will also meet prosecutor generals and high officials of the NAB. Justice (r) Javed Iqbal will serve as NAB chairman for a non-extendable period of four years from the date he assumes the charge of the office. Justice (r) Javed Iqbal was born in Quetta in 1936. He obtained an LLB degree from Punjab University in 1968. He completed his LLM in International Law in 1971 from Australia. In 1985, he obtained a degree of Masters in Islamic law from Islamic University Islamabad. Justice (r) Javed Iqbal was appointed additional judge at High Court in Quetta in 1993 than he became the Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court. He remained a judge at Supreme Court of Pakistan from 2004 to 2011.
