KARACHI (92 News) – The unannounced load-shedding and overbilling have become fate of Karachities as the K-Electric announced to extend the duration of load shedding due to furnace oil shortage. In a statement, K-Electric spokesperson said that Karachi’s sole power distributor is facing continued challenges on account of inconsistent supply of furnace oil in line with its demand. “This current situation was further compounded late Friday night due to an unexpected technical fault at its Bin Qasim Power Station (BQPS)-1,” he added. Meanwhile, people in different neighbourhoods have complained of frequent and unannounced load-shedding as mercury rises in the city. The citizens took a lot of complaints against the K Electric and when they reached electric office in Malir, the doors were closed for them. The guards also disgraced the women. Following to this behavior, the protesters raised slogans against the K-Electric. The residents of Karachi continued facing long hours of load shedding over scorching heat and COVID-19 pandemic. 12-hours announced and unannounced load shedding in Karachi has irked people of Karachi, especially the COVID-19 patients isolated at homes. The citizens have demanded the federal and Sindh government to take notice of long hours of load shedding in Karachi amid the hot weather and COVID-19 pandemic.
