LAHORE (92 News) – The fourth Kabaddi World Cup 2020 (Circle Style) on Sunday has been begun today (on Sunday) in Lahore with the opening. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also attended the opening ceremony of the Kabaddi World Cup 2020. The first match between Pakistani and Canada teams held and Pakistan won the match. However, all the teams marched during the event. The Punjab chief minister said that it is really honour for the hosting a big event. Chuahdry Pervaiz Ealhi mentioned that the special love is being given to the sports in Pakistan, Inshallah, the event will be proved successful in the country. The 10-nation mega kabaddi World Cup tournament kicked off from February 9 to 16, 2020 with a grand opening ceremony at Punjab Stadium. Kabaddi World Cup is being organized jointly by Punjab govt, Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) in three cities of Punjab Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujrat. The match between Pakistan and Canada at the Punjab Stadium was held at 4pm. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar was the chief guest during the colorful inaugural ceremony of the fourth Kabaddi World Cup (Circle Style). All previous Kabaddi WCs were hosted by India in the years 2004, 2007 and 2016. Punjab Stadium Lahore will host 14 matches including the semi-finals and the final, 8 matches will be played at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad while 2 matches are schedules at the Zahoor Elahi Stadium, Gujrat. Nine foreign teams are participating in the Kabaddi WC 2020 besides the hosts Pakistan including Australia, Iran, Canada, Sierra Leone, Germany, Azebaijan, Kenya, England and India. Earlier, remaining international kabaddi teams from India, Canada, Australia, Sierra Leone and England have also arrived in Lahore to participate in Kabaddi World Cup 2020. Taimoor Khan Bhatti received the Indian team upon reaching at hotel while other guest teams were warmly received by Sports Board Punjab at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday. The kabaddi teams from Germany, Azerbaijan and Iran had landed in Pakistan on Thursday night training camp,” he added.
