Kalabagh Dam can’t be constructed immediately, says CJP

LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has said that Kalabagh Dam cannot be constructed immediately. Addressing a gathering after visiting the shrine of Hazrat Baba Shah Jamal on Saturday, he said that the Kalanbagh project had not been left. He said that the only solution to overcome water shortage is the construction of dams. “We will construct Kalabagh Dam after the constructing of Diamer and Mohmand dams if the nation continued unity,” he resolved. The CJP said that children are also donating to the Dams Fund. “The Army chief also donated over Rs one billion. We will be able to collect sufficient amount for the dam,” he said. He also distributed cheques of small loans by a private social organization. “I wish I may work for ‘Akhuwat’ as member. I have gained peace by sitting on this floor that I could not gain for years,” he said.
