Karachi bus attack: Army chief cancels visit to Sri Lanka

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday cancelled his visit to Sri Lanka on account of the terrorist attack on a bus in Karachi that killed 45 people including women and children .   According to Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR), the COAS cancelled his pre-scheduled three days visit to Sri Lanka due to the Karachi attack. During his stay, General Sharif was expected to meet the President, Prime Minister, State Minister of Defence, Sri Lankan Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Chief of Defence Staff, Commanders of the Navy and Air Force. He was also expected to gift a few horses to the Sri Lanka Military Academy as a goodwill gesture. Earlier, six terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on a passenger bus carrying innocent civilians in Karachi killing 45 people including women and children.
