Karachi bus attack: Sindh government announces day-long mourning, CM suspends DSP, SHO

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government on Wednesday announced a day of mourning on May 14 following the bus attack that left 44 people including women and children dead. Talking to the media following the attack Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said that Karachi is a forest of people where millions live. “In the past three months, there was no serious incident involving violence,” he said. Suspending the DSP and SHO of the area, the CM ordered the Sindh IG to investigate into the tragedy. Meahwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has appealed the traders, schools’ administrations, transporters and industrialists to not conduct business May 14. Different organizations including Awami National Party (ANP) have also announced observance of a daylong mourning. Earlier, terrorist clad in police uniforms entered a passenger bus opening indiscriminiate fire at the passengers in the Safoora Chowrangi area in Gulistan Johar killing at least 44 including women and two children.
