Karachi & Hyderabad likely to receive more rains from tomorrow

KARACHI (92 News) - Karachi and Hyderabad are likely to receive more rains from Tuesday as another spell of monsoon is ready to strike the country.

The conduct of the local bodies elections is in danger due to rains in Sindh. According to the provincial election commissioner, 40 percent areas of 16 districts have been badly damaged by the rains. Due to flooding, six trains have been closed for 2-3 days.

Earlier, the Met Office had informed that another low pressure (LPA) area is likely to approach Sindh from August23. Due to this weather system, monsoon currents are penetrating in upper and southern parts of the country.

Under the influence of this weather system:

More rain-wind/thundershower (with few heavy falls) is expected in Sindh, south Punjab, south and northeastern Balochistan on 23rd and 24th August.

Possible Impacts:

Heavy Rains may generate urban flooding in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu and Sukkur on 23rd and 24th August.

Flash flooding is expected in Qilla Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Kohlu, Mosa Khel, Sherani, Sibbi, Bolan, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan from 22nd to 24th August.
