Karachi in grip of acute water shortage

KARACHI (92 News) – The metropolis is facing acute water shortage as water level at the Hub dam reached to a dead level. Citizens of Karachi’s North Nazimabad and North Karachi are observing acute shortage of water. The Water Board officials had refused to provide water tankers. The citizens of the metropolis held strong protest over severe water scarcity. Women complained of a severe water crisis after the Sakhi Hassan hydrant refused to facilitate them. The citizens stood in the long queue outside the water hydrant for waiting to acquire water from the night. The tanker mafia is looting the citizens and they are charging prices of the water as per their desires. Earlier, water levels at the Hub dam have dropped to a dangerously low level, creating an acute shortage of water in the metropolis.  Citizens of Karachi’s central district today (Saturday) complained of a severe water crisis after the Sakhi Hassan hydrant refused to facilitate them. Water tankers were seen forming long queues at the hydrant, which entertains between 300 and 400 requests to provide water tankers. The main sources of water for Karachi are Keenjhar lake (Indus river) and Hub dam.
