Karachi JI ameer announces protest for UCs polls

KARACHI (92 News) - Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has announced to stage protest for the conduct of the elections in the union councils.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said that the PPP will have to accept the mandate of the Jamaat-e-Islami.

"The local government elections and Karachi are not the matter of someone else. "It is duty of the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct the elections and not to defend a party," he maintained.

He said that the people have once against been burdened with taxes. "Rulers have not reduced their luxuries. Inflation and unemployment have been imposed on us," he added.

He said that the Sindh government should fulfill its responsibility to control the street crime.
