Karachi JI ameer resigns before taking oath, quits winning seat of PS-129 Karachi
KARACHI (92 News) - Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Monday resigned before taking the oath and announced to quit the winning seat of PS-129 Karachi.
Talking to the media, he alleged that the seats were distributed in Karachi. "The independent candidate got more votes than me. We do not want the seat as charity," he added.
He demanded that a forensic audit should be conducted to thrash out the truth.
Reacting to the statement of Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the MQM spokesperson said that Hafiz Naeemur Rehman had resigned in fear of revelation of the rigging. "Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has kept up the tradition of his party by fleeing from the field," he added.
