KARACHI (92 News) – An anti-terrorism court granted bail to Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar in the provocative speech case. Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Rauf Siddiqui and Abdur Razzaq also appeared in court. Waseem Akhtar was brought to court from jail. Counsels for Waseem Akhtar said that all the cases were registered on the same charge, while the accused’s arrest had not been shown in the case. The investigation officer is also in the jail. The court adjourned the case until December 1. Meanwhile, the court also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 20 MQM leaders, including Dr Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Qamar Mansoor, Saif Yar Khan and Rehan Hashmi. After getting the bail, he faces the terrorists’ treatment case before being released. Khawaja Izharul Hassan said that no MQM leader had escaped from the country. “We will face the court. I have only courts to get myself dry cleaned. The MQM is not supporting any criminal,” he said.
