Karachi operation is non-political & indiscriminate, says Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar

KARACHI (92 News) – Corps Commander Karachi Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar has said that the operation is non-political and indiscriminate and it will continue till achieving its targets. Addressing the passing-out parade of the Rangers on Friday, he said that the peaceful Karachi is the symbol of a strong Pakistan. “The war against terrorism is not our goal, but it is beginning of an end to terrorism. The sacrifices of security institutions will not go waste,” he said, adding that the targets of the operation were terrorists, their facilitators and financial supporters. Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar said that the Rangers are playing the frontline role against terrorism. “Peace in Karachi and restoration of people’s confidence are proofs of the excellent performance of the law enforcement agencies,” he said. He was of the view that conditions will improve with every passing day. “The credit of the success of the Rangers goes to the top leadership and professional training,” he maintained.
