Karachi operation not against a specific party, says Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

KARACHI (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the Karachi operation is not against a particular party and they have to put Karachi aright at all costs. He was addressing a high-level meeting on Thursday. The meeting agreed to continue the Karachi operation under the captaincy of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah. Nawaz Sharif said that the Karachi operation was about to enter the final phase. "The forces will remain in Karachi even after the success." He reprimanded the IGP Sindh for the weak prosecution. The DG Rangers also complained against the IGP Sindh for not fighting the terrorism cases on strong basis in courts. Later speaking at a lunch hosted by the Parsi community, the prime minister said that extortion and target killing had reduced in Karachi. “We will not end the operation.” He said that the people making others’ life a hell has no right to live in Pakistan. He asked the MQM to return to the assemblies. “It’s better to say nothing about the PTI resignations,” he said. Earlier addressing a ceremony of K-2 project of Karachi Nuclear Power Project (KANUPP), Nawaz Sharif said that the project is an example of Pak-China friendship and expressed happiness at the project. He said that cooperation in the establishment of K-2 and K-3 nuclear power projects reflect strong bonds between Pakistan and China. Nawaz Sharif appreciated the steps being taken by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission for the safety of existing and under-construction nuclear power plants. “The world is accepting Pakistan’s growth.” He made it clear that the loadshedding will be eliminated. The prime minister said that the fight against terrorists will not be stopped due to the martyrdom of Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada and attack on the MQM leader Rashid Godil.   He said that such acts could not deter their resolve in the war on terror. “No hurdle in the campaign against terrorism will be tolerated,” he added.
