Karachi operation will continue till attainment of sustainable peace: COAS

KARACHI (92 News) – COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Karachi Corps Headquarters and Rangers Headquarters on Wednesday. According to ISPR, COAS was briefed about overall accomplishments of the op so far and way forward remained the focus of. The COAS commended Army, Rangers, LEAs and intelligence agencies for noticeable improvement in law and order situation. He also appreciated sacrifices of people of Karachi. The COAS said security in the metropolitan had direct bearing on overall business atmosphere and economic activity of the entire country. “All efforts will be made to consolidate gains made so far during operations and indiscriminately eliminate remnants of terrorists and their sleeper cells.” COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said gains of operations will not be allowed to be reversed and the operation will continue with more vigor till attainment of sustainable peace. He directed focused and synergized effort of all military and civil intelligence agencies for optimum effects to pre-empt potential threats to peace of Karachi. “Pak Army will render all assistance to the government for capacity-building and training of LEAs for long-term effectiveness against organized crime and enduring peace,” he maintained.
