Karachi: Rangers free arrested cop; Police says the incident was a misunderstanding

KARACHI (92 News) - Sindh Rangers released on Saturday a policeman arrested during a raid on Mominabad police station last night. As per Sindh Additional Inspector General of Police Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Rangers released the police official Jan Muhammad who was from Mominabad police station in Orangi area. "We held investigations into the whole incident and said the entire episode of arrest was based on a misunderstanding," he said. "Consequently, he was released." Earlier later Friday night, a scuffle broke out between the two law enforcement forces Police and Sindh Rangers when the two exchanged heated arguments during a raid on Mominabad police station. Later, senior police officials arrived on the spot. “We will register a kidnapping case against the Rangers,” SSP East Azfar Muhseer had said."Rangers should have told us if they wanted to interrogate any constable."
