Karachi receives first rain of winter season

KARACHI (92 News) – Karachi has received its first rain of the winter season on Friday morning (today). The rain has made the atmosphere extremely pleasant besides reducing temperature down. Many areas of Karachi including Korangi have been engulfed in the first rain of the winter season. Due to the rain, the cold intensified in several areas of the metropolis. The commuters especially motorcyclists faced problems while going to their offices due to rain. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts more rain throughout the day. This, coupled with strong winds, has led to cooler weather in the city. Light rain was reported on Sharae Faisal, in Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Mehmoodabad, Defence, Korangi and Malir. On the other hand, it may have been difficult to drive in Punjab Friday morning as intense fog lingered across the province including Lahore. According to the details garnered, intense fog has lowered the temperature causing difficulties for passengers on Motorway and highways. The visibility in several cities in Punjab including Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar has been reduced considerably as drivers were seen moving with the headlights of their vehicles and fog lamps which severely affected the traffic flow. The motorway has been closed for traffic at many places, while the foggy conditions have disturbed the normal life of citizens.
