KARACHI (92 News) – Several areas of Karachi on Thursday received light rains which turned the weather pleasant besides reducing the temperature.

Rains and continuously blowing strong winds provided much needed relief to the heat stricken people by decreasing temperature during the day and at nighttime.

The rainfall served as a respite from the sweltering heat, as the weather turned pleasant and the temperature dropped a few degrees.

The majority of Karachiites started arriving at parks, sea view and other picnic spots located in the city along with family to enjoy and take full benefit from the changing weather.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the weather has lowered to 32 Celsius from 38-40 Celsius due to increased humidity level in past weeks.

On the other hand, dust-thunderstorm rain with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Multan, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Zhob, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, DI khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, FATA, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.

However, hot and dry weather is likely to prevail elsewhere in the country.

According to synoptic situation, a westerly wave is still affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next 2 days.
