Karachi's Essa Nagri residents protest against alleged 'rape' of minor girl

KARACHI (92 News) - Angered residents of Essa Nagri in Karachi protested against the alleged rape of a minor girl on Tuesday.

According to the reports, a minor girl was allegedly raped in Essa Nagri and the residents in the area came to know regarding the rape incident and got enraged and surrounded the residence of the suspect.

Traffic flow from National Stadium to Hassan Square affected, angry people pelted stones at police. However, three policemen were injured during the episode.The victim was sent to a hospital for medical examination.

Later, the suspect has been arrested and shifted to an undisclosed location for further probe into the matter. Protesters dispersed after the arrest of the suspect and the road was opened for traffic.
