Karachi saved from disaster, terrorists wanted to target Sindh Assembly: CTD DIG

KARACHI (92 News) – CTD DIG Umar Shahid said that Karachi was saved from big disaster and the terrorists wanted to target the Sindh Assembly.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, he said that a rickshaw laden with explosive material and suicide jackets were recovered in the raid.

Sindh Minister for Information Nasir Hussain Shah said that the group was being operated from Afghanistan and its links were with Indian secret agency Reasearch and Analysis Wing (RAW). "We will not spare the people involved in terrorism and facilitation," he added.

He said that a joint investigation team (JIT) will be formed for probe.

Sindh IGP Mushtaq Mahar said that terrorists have sleeper cells and activities are going on against them.

A terrorist was killed while five others were arrested in the late night operation. The arrested terrorists were identified as Zahidullah alias Suleman, Bismillah alias Haji Lala, Muhammad Qasim alias Haji Siddique, Inamullah alias Bilal and Gull Muhammad.

They were living in a rented house.
