Karachi stays open for business despite MQM strike call

KARACHI (92 News) – Karachi remained open for business on Wednesday despite the announcement of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) observe strike today against the raid at party leader Dr Farooq Sattar’s house by the Rangers. Business and other activities continued as per routine, and regular public transport could also be seen on the city’s roads. The MQM’s Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the Sindh Rangers raid at the residence of party leader Dr Farooq Sattar after which the Coordination Committee appealed to the people to keep their business and transport shut to protest the incident. Earlier, Sindh rangers carried out a raid at the house of Farooq Sattar late Tuesday night. During the raid, the paratroopers sealed the entry and exit routes.
