KARACHI (92 News) – Citizens continued to suffers without the power supply even after 48 hours of the heavy rains that inundated the entire city. K-Electric could not restore could not restore the power supply to different areas, including Defence, Clifton, Quaidabad, Landhi, Malir, Korangi and Shah Faisal Colony, after the rains. Electricity also continued to play hide and seek in several blocks of Gulsha-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Johar. Meanwhile, Sarjani Town, Baldia Town, Orangi Town, Liaquatabad, Azizabad, Gulberg, Buffer Zone, Ranchor Line, Lines Area, Kharadar, Meethadar, Lyari and Kemari are also affected by the suspension of the power supply. In a video message, K-Electric Spokesperson Noor Afshan said that power supply to 90 percent feeders, out of 1,900 feeders, had been restored and it would be restored to other areas soon. She said that power supply had been restored to Defence Phase I, Phase II and Phase VIII. "Teams are working in the areas where the supply could not be restored." She said that over 170 feeders are still shut. "We are seeking help from the departments to drain out the rainwater," she added.
