Kashmir may lead to a direct war between two nuclear armed countries: Pervaiz Khattak

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Defence Pervaiz Khattak said that the world’s inaction over Kashmir might lead to a direct military confrontation between the two nuclear armed neighbours. Addressing a ceremony in Nowshera, the defence minister said that Pakistan does not desire a war, but would respond to any Indian aggression in a befitting manner. He also said some eight million Kashmiris are facing the worst atrocities at the hands of Indian occupation forces. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has exposed the real face of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is committing Muslims' genocide in the held valley. Pervez Khattak said India has denied the Kashmiris their right to self-determination, which it had accepted as per the United Nations' resolutions. Curfew and lockdown continued at 43rd consecutive day on Monday (today) in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) from August 5 when Narendra Modi government announced scraping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The occupied territory continued to reel under strict military siege and curfew on the 43rd consecutive day as all markets are closed while transport is off the road.

Indian troops kill two youth in fake encounter

The troops killed two youth in a fake encounter in Kathua district on Thursday, while another youth identified as Akhlaq Ahmad Khan, was picked up by police from a market and was killed a few hours later at Janipur police station in Jammu city. The Indian authorities had not made the Thursday’s killings public as yet. The family members of the third victim, Akhlaq Ahmad Khan, were called by the police over phone and were asked to collect his dead body from the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. They protested against the custodial death of Akhlaq Ahmad Khan and demanded a strong action against the policemen involved in the gruesome murder. Meanwhile, Kashmir valley and parts of Jammu region continued to remain under military siege and curfew situation for 43rd consecutive day, today with all shops, markets and business establishments closed while public transport off the roads. Besides, communication services including mobile, internet and TV channels are snapped from 5th of August, the day India scrapped Kashmir’s special status.
