Kashmiris observe Martyr's Day across the world; Rallies and protests on cards

MUZAFFARABAD (92 News) – Kashmiris around the world especially in occupied Kashmir observed Monday July 13 as Youm-e-Shuhda Kashmir (Martyrs  Day) on Monday. The event is observed to commemorate the 22 people killed by firing of Dogra army while protesting against autocratic rule on July 13, 1931. As per details, a massive march will be conducted from Jamia Masjid to Naqshband Sahib in occupied Srinagar to mark the day. Indian authorities have imposed curfew like situation and strict restrictions whereas heavy Indian Police and Central Reserve Police Fore (CRPF) personnel in all the old city parts of Srinagar have been deployed. Indian forces are deployed in strength and people have been forced to remain indoors in the civil lines in Srinagar to thwart a march from Jamia Masjid to Naqshband Sahib in Srinagar. Call for the march was jointly given by Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. Hurriyet leaders have also been taken into custody or detained at their houses.
