Talking to media, the lawyers of the victims said that police have registered false cases against them, which is unethical. The victims said that amid mounting calls for justice from victim families, media and civil society, the Punjab government formed a five-member JIT and the victims were attending the JIT sessions but implicating the victims in the murder of accused Muhammad Shafi has clarified government’s aim. The victims announced that they would march toward Islamabad, if the authorities should not annul the cases against them and the government will be responsible for that.
