SANTA BARBARA (Web Desk) Pop superstar Katy Perry is set to embark on an extraordinary journey to space this spring as part of an all-female crew aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.
Katy Perry will join an all-female crew, including Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Gayle King, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez, on Blue Origin's historic flight to the Kármán line, marking the first all-female spaceflight since 1963, offering a few minutes of weightlessness.
It’s worth mentioning here that the Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket has flown 52 people into space since 2021, including Jeff Bezos, William Shatner, and Michael Strahan.
The upcoming flight will be its 11th human spaceflight, though the launch date is yet to be announced. Sánchez, who chose the crew for this mission, said the flight aims to inspire the next generation of explorers.
The crew hopes to challenge their perspectives on Earth and create a lasting impact on future generations.
It should be noted here that Perry, starting her "Lifetimes Tour" in April, is expected to launch into space before her first concert in Mexico City, with the 10-minute flight offering a rare glimpse of space and marking a pivotal moment for women in STEM and exploration.
