ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Kulbhushan Jadhav faced the allegation of destabilizing Pakistan.

Giving a policy statement in the Senate on Tuesday, he said that Kulbhushan’s confessional statements are part of the record.

“No leniency for those working against country’s solidarity. Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan was arrested from Pakistan. The case was tried for three and a half months. He was awarded sentence according to laws. He can appeal against sentence within 60 days,” he said.

The minister said that former COAS Gen Raheel Sharif has not submitted an application for a no objection certificate (NOC). “Pakistan will not become part of an alliance working against Muslim countries,” he declared.

He said that Pakistan will remove Iran’s reservations about Gen Raheel Sharif becoming head of a military alliance of Muslim countries. “Pakistan is not a country of a sect, a school of thought or a religion. Pakistan belongs to Pakistanis,” he added.

Kh Asif said that characteristics of the alliance will clear in a meeting in Saudi Arabia in May.
