Khalid Khursheed finalized for slot of Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister

The prime minister approved Khalid Khursheed for the slot after a meeting with PTI chief organizer Saifullah Niazi.

Khalid Khursheed will take the oath of his office on November 30. Prime Minister Imran Khan will also attend the oath-taking ceremony. Federal ministers, Gilgit-Baltistan governor and military officers will also attend the ceremony.

Khalid Khursheed was born in Ratto, Astore on November 17, 1980. He passed his matriculation from Public School and College, Gilgit. He passed his graduation from Faisalabad and got the law degree from Queen Mary University of London.

He was first time elected the Member of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly as independent candidate in 2015. He joined the PTI in 2018 and was made the divisional president of Diamir, Astore.

He won the seat from GB-13 Astore-1 by a margin of 20,000 votes.
