Khanpur DSP martyred in encounter with dacoits in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR (92 News) – Khanpur DSP Rao Shafiullah was martyred in an encounter with the dacoits in Shikarpur on Tuesday. The operation was going on in area to recover the kidnapped folk singer Jigar Jalal when the dacoits opened fire on them. As a result, Khanpur DSP Rao Shafiullah embraced martyrdom. After the incident, a heavy contingent of police led by the ASP reached the spot and launched the operation. Meanwhile, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has expressed grief over the death of the DSP. “I salute the officer sacrificing his life for defending the life and property of the people,” he said. Earlier on Tuesday, relatives and artistes of the kidnapped folk singer had staged a demonstration outside the press club. Larkana DIG Irfan Baloch said that the abductees would be recovered soon.
