ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the government will not allow anyone to blackmail Pakistan.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly on Tuesday, he said that no one should think that he can challenge the writ of the state. "PTI MNAs say that they are ready to return to the assembly if they the party is given the slot of the opposition leader," he added.

Khawaja Asif condemned the raid on the house of Justice (retd) Nasira Javed. "I apologize to Justice (retd) Nasira Javed. However, no one condemned when the raid was conducted on the house of Noor Alam Khan."

He said that when a political worker speaks the language of terrorism, he negates his political identification. "A constable, who is the father of five children, has been martyred. Our political culture has declined. It is not a culture, but a symbol of violence," he added.

The minister was of the view that opposition for the sake of opposition had thrown the politics of the country into a gutter. "My leader Nawaz Sharif did not lay on the pitch when he was disqualified. He accepted the verdict and went to jail along with her daughter," he maintained.

Earlier, the House unanimously passed a resolution to express solidarity with Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik and condemn his trial. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif presented the resolution.

He said that India is violating the international laws with regard to human rights. He said that the government should pressurize India for withdrawal of the fabricated cases against Yasin Malik as well as his protection and welfare.
