Khawaja Asif demands JIT to investigate attempt on life of Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has demanded the establishment of a joint investigation team to probe the attempt on the life of PTI chairman Imran Khan.

Speaking on the point of order in the National Assembly on Friday, he said that religious fanaticism is behind the incident. "The PTI is giving the attack a political colour. The federal government wants to expose the conspiracy, if any, behind the incident," he maintained.

He said that Imran Khan continued to say that he was seeing blood everywhere. "Allah Almighty has saved Imran Khan. The world is looking towards us. What will happen after the incident?"

The minister said that the persons patronizing the accused should be exposed.

Federal Minister Shazia Marri said that peaceful protest is the right of everyone. "There should be no provocation. Imran Khan wants to regain power at all costs," he added.
