Khawaja Asif demands to increase wheat support price to Rs 2,000

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N leader Khawaja Asif has demanded that the government should fix the wheat support price at Rs 2,000 per maund.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that wheat would be unavailable next year if the support price not increased.

Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that it has been proposed to fix the wheat support price at Rs 1,600 per maund. "However, it has not been decided yeat. Sindh has not given the proposal so far," he added.

The minister said that they would act upon the proposals of the opposition.
