ISLAMABAD (92 News) – During the debate o f budget session, PML-N Parliamentary Leader Khawaja Asif and Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry exchanged heated words on Monday. Talking to the floor of National Assembly (NA), the PML-N leader addressed the House, where he had a verbal spat with Fawad Chaudhry. In his fiery speech, Khawaja Asif criticised the prime minister. “The prime minister says no one is choice available for this post except him. Many people spoke same sentences but no one will stay in this world always,” he added. Fawad Chaudhry, however, interrupted the former defence minister’s speech by asking him to cut it short. “I will say such a thing about you that you will find it difficult to remain seated in this House,” said the PML-N leader. Following the debacle, Chaudhry asked the NA speaker to make Asif rescind his statement and apologise. During his speech, Asif remarked on today’s terrorist attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi, saying the country is united against terrorism. He added the prime minister’s statement on OBL damaged the measures Pakistan has undertaken against terrorism over the years. Khawaja Asif said that the PTI government needed to be stopped from causing further damage. “They have increased the petrol price to Rs100 per litre. This will not only have an effect on petrol but they will now drop bombs on gas and electricity as well,” he added. “This is because they have made commitments with liquidators to revise these tariffs. The budget is an interim document,” he alleged.
