IHC disqualifies Khawaja Asif in Iqama Case
April 26, 2018
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday disqualified Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Asif. A larger bench of the Islamabad High Court had announced the reserved verdict on the application of Usman Dar against Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif after hearing arguments from both sides. Justice Athar Minallah, the bench head, pronounced the judgment. Usman Dar, in the application, had stated that Khawaja Asif is a full-time employee of a UAE-based company and holds an ‘Iqama’. He contended that Khawaja Asif had not disclosed his bank account and salary. He prayed to the court to disqualify Khawaja Asif. On April 10, the court had reserved judgment. Later, Khawaja Asif submitted a letter and stated that he was not the full-time employee. He said that suggestions were received either on phone or his Dubai tour.
