SUKKUR (92 News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah said on Sunday that if anything adverse happened to incarcerated former premier Nawaz Sharif, it would be considered a murder and the government would be responsible for it. Speaking to the journalists after inaugurating plantation campaign, Khursheed Shah expressed concern over Nawaz’s deteriorating health and his health is not well, and it will be considered a murder if something happens to him. The previous political opponent of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) also spoke in support to the PML-N quid and also urged the people to pray for the health and well-being. Taking jibe at Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said the prime minister’s politics still revolves around verbal onslaughts and termed him a master to taking u-turns. “Imran Khan has not left container despite coming into power,” he added. “Our politics is not of verbal abuses. We have seen many ups and downs, we have never talked about power, we have always talked about the public,” Khursheed Shah maintained. It is pertinent to mention here that Nawaz has been imprisoned at Kot Lakhpat jail since December 2018 following his conviction in a corruption reference in line with the Supreme Court’s July 2017 verdict. According to his family, his health is deteriorating and he was denied medical treatment by doctors at the Services Hospital, PIC and Jinnah Hospital.
Nawaz refuses to go to hospital as Maryam asks ‘life-saving unit’ in jail
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Nawaz Sharif, demanded ‘life saving unit’ in jail as her father continues to refuse to be shifted to a hospital to receive treatment for his worsening cardiac health. According to the details, former chief minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz called on the three-time prime minister at Kot Lakhpat Jail on Friday. After the meeting, Maryam Nawaz again failed to convince Nawaz Sharif to get admitted to a hospital for treatment. She took a twitter and said according to cardiologists sent by the government to examine Sharif on Thursday, the former premier’s heart disease has worsened. In these circumstances, she requested the Jail authorities to establish an immediate life saving unit on the Jail premises. “Just met MNS. Since he hasn’t agreed to be shifted to the hospital & his heart disease has worsened (according to cardiologists sent by the govt to examine him y’day), I request the Jail authorities to establish an immediate resuscitation and life saving unit on Jail premises,” Maryam tweeted.
