LONDON (Web Desk) King Charles III has unveiled his eclectic musical tastes in a new Apple Music show, The King's Music Room, which will premiere on March 10 at 6 a.m. GMT on Apple Music 1.
Recorded at Buckingham Palace, the show celebrates Commonwealth Day and offers a rare insight into the King's personal relationship with music.
The playlist, featuring genres from 1930s crooners to reggae, Afrobeats, and disco, includes legends like Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, and Grace Jones, alongside stars like Davido and RAYE, with the King sharing personal stories about his encounters with these artists and the impact of music on his life.
"Music has meant a great deal to me throughout my life," said King Charles in his introduction.
"It has the remarkable ability to bring back happy memories, comfort us in times of sadness, and bring us joy—especially when it brings us together in celebration."
The show offers listeners a deeper connection to the King's experiences and his appreciation for global music. The King also reflects on the importance of music in uniting people across cultures.
Rachel Newman, Apple Music's global head of Content and Editorial, called it an honour to share the King's personal playlist, which will be available for free on Apple Music 1 or on-demand with a subscription.
It should be noted here that the programme is set to be a highlight of Commonwealth Day, offering a unique and personal musical journey from the monarch himself.
