LAHORE (92 News) – Following the successful dialogues between protesting farmers and the government, Police have on Wednesday released central leadership of the protesting farmers. Police had arrested Kisan Ittehad Central president Khalid Khokhar late Tuesday night. Talking to media Khalid Khokhar said that the farmers wanted to protest in favor of their demands and against Indian aggression but police detained him without any reason. He alleged that unprecedented hindrance and arrests had been made. Khokar said that the poor farmers haven’t received anything from the government’s Rs 50 billion package for farmers. Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah and others strongly condemned the arrest of farmers who wanted to record their agitation against government. Bilawal Bhutto said that PPP workers will participate in the peaceful sit-in and also warned the government, and said that the PPP and people of the country stand in complete solidarity with the protesting farmers and peasants.
