PESHAWAR (92 News) – Expressing concern over western routes of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has on Sunday announced to move court for ignoring the province. Special assistant to the chief minister on information Mushtaq Ghani said that every time federal minister Ahsan Iqbal lied to the provincial government regarding the CPEC and failed to dispel the complaints of the KP government. Ghani demanded the federation to clear its stance regarding the CPEC whether the western routes are part of the project or not. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s all parliamentary parties are united for the rights of the province, adding that many resolutions have been passed in the provincial assembly regarding western routes. On the other hand, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that projects being executed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will benefit the less developed and backward areas of the country. “No province is being deprived of its share in the project, he added. Ahsan Iqbal said: “Construction work on the western route of the corridor is underway with full swing, and Gwadar-Quetta road will be completed before the stipulated time.” He said that foreign investment is not attracted through cases in courts; however, if the KP government wants to get satisfaction by moving the court, it cannot be prevented from it.
