ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday has announced to open doors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor House in Nathiagali for public to promote tourism. “These colonial symbols which cost crores annually to the taxpayer in maintenance are now going to make money for the government,” the prime minister said, in his tweet. Nathiagali Governor House is one of the 169 Government Resthouses, that are now open for public and can be booked online. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has also opened Chief Minister’s House, Speaker’s House, Inspector General’s House, Karnak House in Natiagali for tourists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56YOJpwZ1Lc Earlier, the historical Governor House Peshawar was opened for general public today. A spokesman of the Governor’s House said initially the Governor House would remain open on Sundays. Another historical building, Balahisar Fort, which currently serves as the Frontier Corps headquarters, would also be opened to general public soon. Meanwhile, Governor House Murree was also opened for public on Sunday. The locals were allowed to visit the state building from 11:00 am to 4:00pm with families, however, no one is allowed to carry eatables inside. The authorities also instructed to keep the parks clean. The people were instructed to bring their National Identity Cards (NIC) with them for entry from the Anarkali gate in front of Al-Hamra Art Council. Talking to journalists on this occasion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Sadaqat Ali Abbasi said all such buildings will be utilized for public. Earlier this month, Governor House Punjab along with the Governor House in Sindh was opened to the public after receiving Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives on the matter. According to the reports, the visitors are being allowed to enter the building from Kashmir Road Gate after showing their national identity cards and going through necessary security check.
