KP NFC delegation calls on Sindh CM

KARACHI (92 News) – A delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s National Finance Commission (NFC) committee, led by provincial Finance Minister Muzaffar Saeed, called on Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in Karachi on Thursday. Sindh Chief Minister Murad said that powers under 18th Amendment should be taken to increase corporation between the provinces regarding the NFC. The meeting agreed to urge the federal government to give the task of sales collection to the provinces and the funds collected through sales tax should be distributed through the NFC award. The province that collects more than the set target should be given five per cent collection award, the meeting agreed. The meeting also decided that the center would not be allowed to make a deduction of seven percent from the divisible poll in the name of CPEC’s security and FATA’s development. Only provinces have the right on divisible poll, the center should itself bear the responsibility of development of CPEC and FATA, the meeting asserted. The team of KP NFC committee included Ibrahim Khan and Finance Secretary Ali Raza Bhutto while Sindh Finance Secretary Hassan Naqvi and others accompanied the Sindh chief minister.
